Trevor Chastney – Chairman
Trevor qualified as a quantity surveyor is 1975 and has worked as Technical Director for a number of UK based residential developers. In 1988 Trevor moved to Australia to head up Beazer Homes. After a return to the UK in 1997 Trevor established First Step Homes Ltd with his business partner George Wysocki .
George Wysocki – Non Executive Director
George has been involved in property development since 1982 when he began his own residential property maintenance company in Bristol. This proved to be highly successful and led to diversification into commercial and retail development.
In 1997 George joined forces with Trevor and founded First Step Homes.
Derek Coyle – Managing Director
Derek began his career as an estate agent in Muswell Hill, London. Derek then joined Berkeley Homes in London and quickly progressed through the ranks to become Land Director.
Moving to Cornwall Derek joined Truro based Poltair Homes as Land Director.
Derek joined First Step Homes (SW) Ltd as Managing Director in 2010.
Louis Broadbent – Finance Director (ACA)
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 Louis joined the Beazer Group. After working with the Unite Group Plc and Charles Church Plc he returned to the Beazer Group as Finance Director for the South of England with responsibility for eight regional offices.
Louis joined First Step Homes in 2008.
Martin Page – Land Director
Martin began his career as a deep sea diver working on oil platforms all over the world. In 1997 Martin decided on a career change and joined The Housing Foundation which was a pioneering company specialising in the development of affordable housing in Cornwall.
Martin has worked in the niche area of affordable housing for the last 15 years and has built up an extensive knowledge of the planning system and development issues specific to green-field land.
Martin joined First Step Homes (SW )Ltd in 2004 and since this date he has played a pivotal role in the delivery of over 120 affordable homes throughout the South West of England.
Stefan Klimek – Land Director
Over the last 15 years Stefan has gained extensive experience working within the property industry with roles as proprieter of a residential estate agency as well as commercial valuation and surveying with Vickery Holman.
Stefan is a land buyer and Director for First Step Homes (SW) Ltd and has recently combined this with the development and management of a large student portfolio in Falmouth.
John Archer – Land Buyer
John has vast experience both as a Land Agent and Land Buyer specialising in Residential Development land throughout Cornwall.
John’s early career was spent with Wimpey Homes as Land Buyer for Cornwall and since then he has acquired land for a number of local residential developers.
The other half of his career has been spent in Agency heading up Land and New Homes Departments for Millers , Black Horse, Bradford and Bingley and Countrywide. John has facilitated disposals on behalf of Cornwall Council , Railtrack , the MOD , The Duchy of Cornwall and numerous private land owners.
Edward Lewis – Senior Land Manager
Following his early career as a helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy Ed completed his MSc in Real Estate at the University of Reading where he specialised in residential and commercial development and valuation.
Ed has worked for a number or residential house builders in the South West including Strongvox and Redrow Homes Plc.
Ed joined First Step Homes in 2006.
