First Step Homes South West Ltd was in December 2009, granted planning permission to develop a site at Hellier’s Lane, Cheddar. The development will comprise a range of affordable two and three bedroom homes for  for locally qualifying people who are living or working within the Parish of Cheddar.

 

The planning permission granted on the site allows for 67 units to be constructed. Sixteen of these will be available for discounted sale, typically at a range between 60-70% of open market value. The remainder of the properties will be available as shared equity properties or as socially rented properties. The shared equity and socially rented houses will be managed by an as yet undecided Housing Association.
